Valid HTML or XHTML?

From a quick look, your service and sprouts look very promising.

However, the code used to embed the sprouts causes the Web pages to no longer validate using the W3C Markup Validation Service (http://validator.w3.org/).

Neither HTML or XHTML doctypes will validate with your embed code.

Any chance this can be fixed in the future?

Thanks for a cool service. ...pt

It seems that wrapping the sprout embed code in a CDATA tag keeps the W3C validator happy.

Hope that helps. ...pt

Hello Philip,

Thanks for pointing that out. We'll definitely keep that in mind for the future. Thanks a bunch for your feedback!

Darn, I may have spoken too soon. I could have sworn I tested everything, but when I added some sprout code (wrapped in CDATA tags) last week, the sprout no longer displayed.

The code did pass W3C validation, but the spout didn't display. With the CDATA tags removed, the validation failed miserably, but the sprout showed. Darn, I was sure I tested all that before. Hmmm.

Anyway, has anyone used the SWFObject method (http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/) of adding a sprout to a page?

A lot of people swear by that method of including Flash objects. It is claimed to be "very search engine friendly, degrade gracefully, can be used in valid HTML and XHTML 1.0 documents..."

Has anyone here tried revising the sprout code to use this? ...pt
