PADI Specialty of the Month

New sprout that i been tweaking on and off for a while - it's finally at a stage where i'm happy to publish it. hopefully once the animation bugs of 1.5 are ironed out it should become a little slicker.

basically this sprout was designed to:

  • provide visitors to our Facebook and Myspace pages with up-to-date information about the current Specialty of the Month (the specialty changes every month)

  • provide our dive centres and resorts (members) with widgets (sprouts) for their Facebook/Myspace company pages and web sites.
In order to help spread the sprout we had to look at the content. If this had of been a standard Flash tile we would have had a link to the dive centre lookup function on padi.com that allows people to find their nearest PADI centre. Obviously our members don't want links that could potentially send business elsewhere so we changed the link to the padi.com front home page rather than the dive centre locator page.

  • ensure that our centres are advertising the current speciality of the month. up until now we have provided flash tiles/animated gifs however the onus has always been with the member to update each month. due to many factors, often these are not updated at the beginning of every month which means that the advertising isn't consistent. By using sprout builder we can ensure that all of the sprouts are updated on the first of the month (assuming that I'm running on time with the new artwork). I'm also working on smaller versions for inclusion on blogs.

anyway, any comments and/or suggestions are always welcomed.

The sprout is great! The only thing is that I feel as though everything shouldn't be brought out one by one. Especially buttons to get to the next page. Despite that, the sprout is great! Keep up the good work!
