Does the line tool only make solid lines? No. The line tool can be used to make a solid line, a dashed line or a dotted line. You can vary the width of the dash or dotted line and get off-beat shapes that you can use in your design. The line tool also comes in handy for keeping objects aligned when you are roughing out your design. Draw a line for your objects or text to rest on. Just remember to make the line longer or wider than the page so it is easy to grab. And it is best to draw the alignment lines on the foreground master page (ready to be deleted when you are done).
