Go Pro! (and get the "Sprout" branding removed)

Lots of you have been asking us if you can remove the bar containing the Sprout logo that is automatically placed at the bottom of every sprout when published. And now you can! Upgrade your account to “Pro” and the "Sprout bar" will be removed. There is no fee for the Pro account at this time, and to upgrade, simply log in to the builder and look for the “Go Pro” text link in the upper right corner.

Are there any features unique to upgrading to "Pro"? By going pro and losing your brand (the sprout logo is no longer present when a publisher goes pro)without customers paying for it, how is Sprout able to continue to give customers a free ride on a great product without making money and more importantly losing free marketing everytime a user publishes a sprout to the world? My guess there must be a Pro Plus release in the works with all the bells and whistles that will compel users to pay for the service.

Robert,

Yes... we are releasing this feature early b/c we have had so many requests from professionals needing to remove the Sprout bar for their clients. We are going to be releasing a subscription model in the near future with the brand removal as one of the "pro" features. We just thought that since our users have been so amazingly helpful during our first four months we would give everyone a little present early while we work on our Diamond Head release and build a billing system. So enjoy!

How close are you to giving some ballpark figures for pricing? Or did I miss that info somewhere?

4

That is one heck of a present! Thank you!

5

Since members already get the advantage of going pro for free, when the price is added will we have to paya after that or do we go back to the free version again?

6

Sounds great.
I might want to keep the bar on some widgets, since the Share function is useful. Does the Pro level allow me to add the share button? If not, should I have two accounts, one Pro and one regular?

7

Thanks for the present!

A Question is it possible to integrate in the pro verson also too the Share - Application - means the Share button is very nice - i like this one very much - so i would ask is ther a possibilty to do the share button in the pro version?

Carnet:

Thanks for the response. You guys are amazing. Sounds like you are giving a lot of thought in how you are rolling out Sproutbuilder and will be implementing a lot of flexibility into your service. Look forward to the Diamond Head release.

Came across this post on mashable.com today:

This morning the leading provider of next generation widget solutions, iWidgets, launched into public beta. iWidgets makes it easy for anyone to virally promote their Website by creating widgets that can fit the look and feel of any blog, social network, portal (like iGoogle or Netvibes), and other platforms.

One of the comments:

What's the comparison between this and Sprout Builder?

It's kind of like gigya vs. clearspring, but for super widget customization, rather than viral distribution.

Any thoughts on this?

P.S. No response to this comment as of yet.

Great question about the removal of the share button.

In order to let your viewer regain access to the "share panel" you'll have to create your own "share button."

Open the Help Panel while your building your sprout and look under the Accounts -> Pro Accounts article for a detailed explaination and video.

The basic steps are:
1) Highlight any object (button, image, shape, text, etc.)
2) select Links & Tracking -> Pages -> share/embed page

Hope this helps,

Austin

@Will

Hi Will,

When the pay, subscription model is introduced you'll have the option to continue on that service, or change to the free Sprout option as well.

Thanks for using Sprout Builder!
